The largest e-commerce conference in Slovakia, Upterdam, was absolutely great! I’m so glad that Jakub Jarabica and I were able to collaborate and create a lot of content there. But let’s take a look at our whole trip to Slovakia, which I took with David Gregor, who takes care of all my visuals from photos to videos to graphics. And how did we even get to Senec? Of course, with the Mazda from Aspekta, which has been facilitating all my trips for some time now.
The first stop was TrustPay. We left the day before, September 25th, because our trip started at 3:00 PM in Bratislava, where I was a guest on the TrustPay podcast. We discussed networking, Meet&Deal, but also AI and my opinion on its development and future. And since the podcast will be released in December, I mentioned some things that haven’t been heard anywhere else. Especially about Meet&Deal. Wait for that. 🤪
After the podcast and vlogging, we moved to the Maldives. What? More precisely, to the Maldives in Senec, at Slnečné Jazerá, where we were staying. We checked in and went to the Upterdam dinner for partners, speakers and VIP guests, to get to know each other better before the conference itself and to have a better and more relaxed atmosphere. Well, we didn’t have to get fully acquainted until the morning, but that’s what made it even better.
In the morning, a refresh in Slnečné Jazero and off to the conference. We have to interview several guests – Milan Peťko, Branislav Barbirík and Dalibor Cicman. We walk through the entire area, go around the partner stands in the expo zone and network as much as possible. After a few hours, I’m looking for Jakub, we have to go and shoot the Reels Talk byAndré. We found him, we get in the cars and go back to the ‘Maldives’. Few moments later: 2 hours later we have the episode filmed, including other parts for the vlog, and we’re back at the conference, which is in full swing.
We network and interview more guests, such as Imrich Kovaľ, Katarína Ďurčová and Ivo Mrena – we have the material for the vlog ready and now it’s just dinner, afterparty and some cutaway shots.
After dinner, there was the Ťažký Týždeň program, which was about e-commerce, and then the band Polemic played and finally DJs. During all of this, we of course get closer and network. I met over a hundred new people and a lot of them, I believe, you’ll soon see on Meet&Deal.
Two days, during which I spent over 30 hours working, walked about 50 km and met more than 100 people. Upterdam was quite a ride and undoubtedly confirmed its reputation as the largest e-commerce conference in Slovakia. So what’s next? Let’s go again.
