Meet&Deal vol10 Xmas Edition was one of the best events we’ve ever done, and I’m really glad to see how far we’ve come with these events in less than 3 years. We networked, made deals, had a panel discussion, raised money for a good cause through a raffle, exchanged gifts as part of a Secret Santa, and took networking to the next level. Take a look at how it all unfolded.
Over 200 people at Kafkoff
One thing you can’t bet on is the weather. Especially in December. But why worry about the weather when the event is held indoors? Well, not entirely.
If it rained, was unpleasant and cold, it would affect your mood on the way to the event. And since it was around 10 degrees and sunny all day, the mood was just right. And when the weather is bad, you generally don’t feel like going anywhere…
Secondly, a lot of people smoke or just want to step out for some fresh air. Kafkoff was ideal for this, as it has a front patio with gas lamps, making it even nicer. Inside, there was a bar, a larger lounge, and a basement with plenty of nooks and crannies, a stage for the panel, and a second bar with our great drinks.
Panel discussion on the topic of community
The panel discussion was great. Erika Eliášová from Erika Fashion took the moderator’s chair and interviewed Jan Strach (behind the magazine The Mag and the platform Komunita), Aneta Martínek (CEO of the #HolkyzMarketingu platform), and myself.
We discussed building communities through and through, as well as BezCyklení, Meet&Deal, #HolkyzMarketingu, Komunita, The Mag, and The Muse. Thanks to everyone for that.
Already 550k for a good cause
The Meet&Deal vol10 Xmas Edition also featured a raffle for a good cause in collaboration with the Kubova English Foundation, led by Martina Čáslavová, with valuable prizes from our partners such as Angry Beards, Furiosa, Fabini, Husky, ZOOT, Mixit, BezCyklenia, Vuch, and Trenýrkárna.
We were able to help draw some of the main prizes thanks to some improvisation, and most importantly, we managed to raise 43,800 CZK for Ivanka, who cannot live a normal life due to an infection. We contributed to a new electric wheelchair for her.
Secret Santa took networking to the next level
Participants drew a name tag at registration and had to find and give a gift to the person whose name they drew. Those who forgot could improvise by buying raffle tickets.
In addition to the regular networking activities we have (like the rock-paper-scissors tournament by Mailkit or the matchmaking services), this was an interesting twist. You’d run into someone you might not have otherwise talked to. The gifts brought joy and maybe even new connections and deals?
Of course, there were a few people left at the end who didn’t find their recipient and didn’t receive a gift. Here, too, improvisation came into play. We lined up the participants and simply exchanged the gifts.
Organizational gaps vs. positive feedback
From an organizational standpoint, it was a bit tougher for me. We had quite a few mistakes, but also a lot of things we couldn’t control. For example, the ventilation in the basement, the weaker acoustics during the panel discussion, or the lack of a more open space that could accommodate more people at once.
Luckily, this didn’t affect the quality of the event from the participants’ perspective. “I liked the mix of people from different fields and the catering was top-notch. Erika Eliášová was great in the panel, human and to the point,” describes Hana Slačálková, a freelance HR marketer. “It was a great event with interesting people,” adds Nikola Vilímková, sales director at GIGACOMPUTER. “Incredible event yesterday,” writes Lidija Kovařík, CEO of Pilsner Urquell Experience. “Super event and people, thanks for the invitation,” says Jakub Telenský, CMO of Pilsner Urquell Experience. And we could go on.
We appreciate your feedback and take it to heart to further improve our future events.
Thank you to our partners, and we look forward to 2026
We wrapped up the 2025 event season with the most nourishing Christmas party and the 10th anniversary Meet&Deal event. The afterparty continued right at Kafkoff, and some participants kept it going until the early hours.
Thank you to our partners, without whom we simply couldn’t have put it all together. We thank Mailkit and Libor Nádvorník, Sídlomat led by Lukáš Kruntorád, RTB House, Notin, which currently has the positions of Content Strategist, Customer Acquisition Manager, and Senior Product Owner.
