Alex Gritsayev began “entrepreneuring” as early as 14 years old, selling Pokémon cards. Today, he leads Socialmind, a social media management and content creation agency that is aiming for a turnover of 100 million in 2024. How did he go from freelancing to one of the most progressive marketing agencies in the Czech Republic? And why does he believe that the future belongs to high-quality video content on social media?

From Pokémon to a Multi-Million Business

Alex’s entrepreneurial spirit manifested itself in childhood, when he earned money by trading Pokémon cards. “I exchanged them and had the biggest collection in the school. When I was leaving for high school, my parents told me they were worthless – but I sold them and made the first 10,000 CZK,” he recalls.

He gained experience as a freelancer and in various marketing agencies, until finally in 2020 he founded Socialmind – an agency focused solely on social media management. As he himself says: “Marketing is about understanding what drives people to buy. And social media is the largest attention market today.”

Why Did Socialmind Bet on Reels?

A few years ago, hardly anyone could have imagined that a billion-dollar business could grow thanks to Instagram Reels or TikTok. But Alex saw it differently. “Everyone was running PPC campaigns and didn’t believe that organic content on social media could bring results. We took a different path.”

Today, Socialmind collaborates with clients like Niceboy, Trenýrkárna, and Gorenje, helping them build their brands through short videos. “The key is to stand out. If you do what everyone else does, you’ll get lost in the crowd. You have to bring unique and high-quality content.”

What Is the Recipe for Success?

Alex believes that the key to overcoming any challenge is consistency and perseverance. Just like with his first Pokémon business, Socialmind also had to build from scratch. “I remember how in the beginning we posted dozens of Reels a month and almost no one saw them. But we persevered – and today it’s the main growth channel for our clients.”

He also thinks it’s important not to try to do everything at once. “For a long time, I was looking for what exactly to do in marketing. But when I chose to focus only on social media management, everything changed.”

What Does a Day in the Life of the Founder of Socialmind Look Like?

Alex starts his day early, around 6:30 AM. After meditation and a short morning workout, he spends two hours in intense focused work. “In the morning, I focus on strategy and business development, in the afternoon on meetings with clients and the team.”

When asked what changes if he has a hangover, he laughs: “It doesn’t happen often, but when it does, I take it easier in the morning and jump back into work in the afternoon.”

The Future Belongs to High-Quality Content

What awaits Socialmind in the coming years? Expansion and further growth. “We want to have exclusive collaborations with the best brands in every segment. We already work with leaders in retail, electronics, and fashion, and we want to strengthen that even further.”

At the same time, he has a clear vision for content creation: “Quality will play an increasingly important role. Those who don’t start investing in professional production now will find it much harder and more expensive in a few years.”
